ASCE – 2025 Oregon Regional Bridge Building Competition

Objective: The goal of this competition is to design, build, and test the most efficient bridge that meets the provided specifications. Students who achieve first or second place in the Oregon Regional Contest will qualify for the International Bridge Building Competition on April 26, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois. The ASCE Oregon Section will award scholarships to the top winners (scholarship amounts to be announced).
Purpose: This event promotes the study and application of fundamental physics principles while encouraging high school students to develop hands-on skills through bridge construction. Participants experience the challenges and excitement of engineering, learning to design and build structures within specified guidelines and testing their performance. Additionally, the competition fosters interaction between high school students, engineering students, professors, and practicing engineers.
